Kenneth R. Johnston named to GZA GeoEnvironmental’s Executive Team as Chief Administrative Officer

NORWOOD MA…ISSUED AUGUST 19, 2013… GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc., a leading environmental and geotechnical consulting firm, announces that Kenneth R. Johnston has been named to GZA GeoEnvironmental’s Executive Team as Chief Administrative Officer.

A resident of Stoughton, MA, Johnston is a principal with GZA and previously held the position of Senior Vice President, responsible for Risk Management, Contracts & Real Estate.  During that tenure, Johnston was responsible for all aspects of the firm’s contracting, claims management and real estate activities.

Over the past six years, Johnston has taken advantage of the down real estate market and has negotiated, fit up, and moved fourteen of GZA’s offices into upgraded space, while at the same time significantly reducing the firm’s occupancy cost.

Prior to his post as Senior Vice President, Johnston was Vice President of Operations at GZA; before joining the firm he was co-owner of Allstate Polyethylene Corporation.  He also spent several years at Sanders Associates/Lockheed in New Hampshire and is a graduate of their prestigious financial management training program.

Johnston received a degree in Business Administration from Norwich University and his MBA from New Hampshire College.

Johnston is an avid bicyclist, having traveled 60,000 on his bike over the past 24 years.  He has completed the Pan Mass Challenge for 24 consecutive years, raising more than $150,000 for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  He is actively involved in the Board of Fellows at the Business & Management School at Norwich University and is currently the Vice Chair.

“I’m very pleased to announce Ken as our Chief Administrative Officer,” said William Hadge, President and CEO of GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. “He has a thorough understanding of GZA’s policies and overall mission and is the perfect person to fill this key role within our organization.  We count heavily on Ken for his keen negotiation and managerial skills on a daily basis.”
