| Siting Studies for New and Expanded Facilities |
|
Identifying a site for a new or expanded solid waste facility requires practical design experience, thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and protocols, and the ability to accurately measure public response. For over 25 years, GZA has performed siting studies for new and expanded municipal, incinerator ash, industrial, and hazardous waste landfills; transfer stations; recycling, processing, and composting facilities; and waste-to-energy and landfill-gas-to-energy plants. These studies, which have been instrumental in the client's sucessful implementation of these facilities, have involved the following elements:
- Initial site reconnaissance
- Feasibility studies
- Impact evaluations
- Regulatory issue identification
- Preliminary information report preparation
- Public benefit determination support
- Community relations / public outreach
