NORWOOD, MA AND GLASTONBURY CT,…ISSUED MARCH 27, 2012…Wayne Cobleigh, Manager of Project Development for GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc., has been appointed as the Connecticut State Director of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for a third one year term.
Founded in 1957, ICSC is the premier global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its more than 55,000 members in over 90 countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials.
In his role as State Director Cobleigh chairs the Leadership Committee and volunteer activities for the area and reports to the Division Vice President on issues and trends impacting the region. He is also responsible for the Program Planning Committee and appointing volunteers to lead local programs.
Cobleigh maintains client relations for GZA within the real estate development, energy and infrastructure and buildings practice areas. At GZA, he builds multi-firm project teams and develops strategic alliances with architects, engineers, attorneys, regulators, construction professionals and other consultants in the design, renovation and construction of buildings and infrastructure. He has 27 years of project management, marketing and business development experience in the environmental services industry in Connecticut. He advises private and public sector clients on a wide variety of environmental compliance matters and real estate development issues. He has represented GZA at several Brownfield redevelopment and sustainable development forums and has prepared testimony at public hearings regarding land developments and community outreach efforts involving environmental assessment and remediation issues.
A resident of Simsbury, Cobleigh has a B.A. degree in Environmental Science and Biology from Colby College and is completing his M.B.A. in Marketing with University of Phoenix Online in 2008. He joined GZA in 2000 and participates in the following business associations: President, Society for Marketing Professional Services Connecticut Chapter, Connecticut Business and Industry, Environmental Policies Council, Alliance Program Co-Chair Planning & Government Affairs Committee, International Council of Shopping Centers in Connecticut. GZA scientists and engineers provide expert testimony and technical support on: environmental impact analysis, permitting, geotechnical design, hazardous building materials management, indoor air quality monitoring, laboratory services, environmental site assessment and remediation of contaminated property.
