GZA is a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute and maintains an NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B compliant Quality Assurance Program.
GZA has worked on over 20 Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) sites in support of groundwater protection, flood margin assessment, COL applications, and the design and construction of Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations. GZA is also experienced working on projects while nuclear plants undergoing decommissioning and relicensing.
We provide engineering, geological, hydrologic and environmental services for the nuclear power industry. GZA is currently working with engineering firms and NPPs to address the NRC’s new requirements for post-Fukushima Near Term Task Force Flood and Seismic Hazard re-evaluations. Since 2002, GZA has provided engineering and environmental services on over 100 projects at U.S. nuclear power plant locations. GZA’s services to the nuclear power industry include:
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering
- Civil Engineering and Hydrology
- Natural Resource & Environmental Impact
- Groundwater Services
- Marine & Waterfront Engineering
- Construction Quality Assurance
- Expert Witness
GZA participates as a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute to proactively address changing regulations, technical standards and guidance for the Fukushima Regulatory Response. GZA provides subject matter expertise in establishing Site Conceptual Models for groundwater protection, flood margin assessment, and we are experienced with the challenges of large and complex projects, demanding schedules, NRC submittal review and public involvement. GZA has shared our “lessons learned” to help our clients and plant engineers with technical presentations at NEI and EPRI workshops on the Groundwater Protection Initiative and the Underground Tank and Buried Pipe Integrity Initiative. Copies of our presentations and technical papers are available upon request.
