NORWOOD MA…ISSUED AUGUST 2018… GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA), a leading environmental and geotechnical consulting firm, announces that James P. Guarente has been promoted to Associate Principal in GZA’s Metro Boston office.
A resident of Nashua, New Hampshire, Guarente joined GZA in January of 1993 as a geotechnical engineer. His work focuses primarily on dam investigations/analyses and remedial repair design/construction projects. Throughout his tenure at GZA he has also served as a Resident Engineer during implementation and construction of several multi-million-dollar dam repair/improvement projects.
Guarente earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College and a Master of Science degree in GeoEnvironmental Engineering from Tufts University.
He is a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Pennsylvania.
Guarente is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), and the Environmental Business Council of New England. He has made numerous presentations on dam safety at regional and national ASDSO conferences.
