NORWOOD, MA…ISSUED APRIL 3, 2014… GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc., a leading environmental and geotechnical consulting firm, announces that Michele Simoneaux of Southborough, MA has been promoted to Senior Environmental Specialist, operating from our Norwood, MA office.
Simoneaux, whose title prior to the recent promotion was Project Manager/Wetland Scientist, joined GZA in 2007. She has 18 years of experience as an environmental professional. Prior to GZA, Simoneaux was the Conservation Agent for the Town of Norwell, MA and previously was an Ecologist at the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences.
Simoneaux specializes in wetland science, regulations and permitting, and has been instrumental in project permitting for numerous GZA clients.
She has a B.S. in Environmental Science from UNC-Asheville and earned her M.S. in Conservation Biology from Antioch University New England. Simoneaux was also a volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps from 1995 to 1997, stationed in Jamaica, West Indies.
She holds membership in the Association of Massachusetts Wetland Scientists, the Society of Wetland Scientists and the New England Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists. In addition, Simoneaux sits on the Town of Southborough Conservation Commission.
While at the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences, she co-authored a paper on improving wildlife conservation through enhanced open space and recreation plans.
