Founded in 1964 as Goldberg-Zoino & Associates, Inc., a soils and foundation specialty consultant, GZA has grown into a multi-disciplinary firm providing services in environmental, geotechnical, water resources, remediation, regulatory compliance and solid waste management.

GZA's roots are in geotechnical engineering — the analysis of conditions "below the ground," their impact on construction, and the formulation of design/construction recommendations. As the firm has grown, we have capitalized on our below-ground experience, and in the late 1970s began to address our clients' soil and groundwater contamination issues. As clients' needs and the regulatory agenda evolved, our business evolved as well. We have expanded our capabilities to assist our clients "above the ground" with their environmental, compliance, building services, air quality, water resources and natural resource impact assessments.

Today, we continue to expand our technical capabilities and geographic presence in order to enhance our service to our clients. We work closely with industrial, commercial, financial, public service and government entities, providing services to large and small organizations alike. To date, we have successfully completed more than 75,000 projects throughout the U.S. and internationally striving to bring value-added solutions to the challenges faced by our clients.
