Matt began his career with GZA in 2004 after completing his undergraduate and graduate studies at University of Rhode Island and joined the Providence, Rhode Island office as an engineer in the emerging Waterfront and Coastal practice. Over the past two decades, he has been instrumental in developing this practice area from its inception into a team of more than 35 professionals, now serving as GZA’s Waterfront and Coastal Practice Area Lead.
Throughout his tenure, Matt has worked extensively across GZA’s waterfront, coastal, and geotechnical service lines, contributing to both technical project delivery and the strategic growth of the practices. He has played a central role in staffing and team development, supporting expansion through organic growth and acquisitions, and helping align the practice with GZA’s long‑term strategic goals. Matt also serves as GZA’s Client Sector Lead for Ports and Marinas and is actively involved in the firm’s On the Waterfront marketing and Design of Resilient Marina initiatives, strengthening industry engagement and business development.
Matt has co-authored six publications and is a registered professional engineer in six states.
