About Rasim

Rasim Tumer has been with GZA since December 2006. Prior to joining GZA, he worked as a Structural/GeoStructural Engineer for over 5 years, specializing in geotechnical and structural earthquake engineering. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Boğaziçi University in Turkey. He also earned two master’s degrees; one in Geotechnical Engineering from Boğaziçi University and another in Structural Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In addition, he completed a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management from the Harvard University Extension School. 

 

Rasim is currently a Senior Principal with GZA and has worked in the heavy civil industry, working for Contractors, Engineers, Owners, and Developers. He has served as principal-in-charge, project manager, and design engineer on diverse projects involving earth support systems, tunnels, water control, foundations, temporary structures, demolition and erection engineering, and contractor-delegated design. He is a registered Professional Engineer in several states, and he is involved in various industry organizations such as Deep Foundation Institute (DFI), Foundation and Marine Contractors (F&M), and Construction Industries of Massachusetts (CIM). He is active in the American Society of Civil Engineers Construction Institute (ASCE CI) and currently serves on the Leadership Team of the ASCE Construction Institute Temporary Works Committee. At GZA, he currently serves as the Practice Area Lead for GZA’s GeoStructural/Construction Engineering Practice Group.
