GZA/Underwood Engineers "Artificial Recharge" System Triples Summertime Water Supply for Durham N.H. and UNH

An innovative "Artificial Recharge system" designed and developed for the Town Of Durham/UNH Water System by the team of Emery & Garrett Groundwater Investigations (EGGI), now a Division of GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc., and Underwood Engineers (UE). Since its completion four years ago, the recharge system has successfully tripled the maximum output of the system’s key production well. It is the first system of its kind in New Hampshire and New England specifically focused on utilizing artificial recharge to supplement a new groundwater supply.
