GZA’s Three-Part Presentation on Resilient Marinas - Now Available at AMI's Website

GZA’s three-part webinar on Resilient Marinas is now available on demand from the Association of Marina Industries website. Available for $50 for non-members and free to AMI members, this on-demand presentation combines three 45-minute training sessions entitled:

“What Is a Resilient Marina?”- By their nature, marinas are at financial risk from more frequent and extreme weather events and property damages. As marinas become more valuable, these risks become more pressing, especially with increasing insurance premiums and deductibles. This first webinar will show how resilient marinas address these risks.

“Marina Vulnerability to Extreme Weather Events and Climate Change”- Several variables can determine how extreme weather and climate create risk for owners and customers of marinas. The presenters will discuss characterizing these risks using a three-step process, similar to the methods insurers assess risk, to determine the potential for damage to marina facilities, and select standardized metrics to evaluate the risk.

“Creating a Resilient Marina”- “Resilient marinas” are marinas that have implemented specific measures to cost-effectively reduce the vulnerabilities, property damage and adverse consequences of severe weather events and the long-term effects of climate change. The webinar will present the steps and methods to practically create a resilient marina.
