Gary McAllister has over 25 years of experience and been with GZA for over 8 years, currently as Associate Principal and Vice President. He leads GZA’s Power Sector, and provides senior technical and management leadership in support of electric transmission and oil and gas pipeline projects. He also serves on GZA’s management committees regarding staff professional development and stock ownership.
His areas of specialization are geotechnical engineering with emphasis on drilled and driven foundations, as well as flood mitigation for critical infrastructure. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine. He is a professional engineer licensed in ME, NH, MA, CT, RI, FL, NC, and GA, with project experience in 27 U.S. states and Atlantic Canada.
His professional activities include membership with the IEEE Power & Energy Society, and American Society of Civil Engineers. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of American Military Engineers, Piscataqua Post for 8 years, including President, Membership Chair, and Fundraiser Chair, leading the Post to continual years of Distinguished Status, and raising over $40,000 for STEM grants and scholarships. He continues his long track record of active involvement in professional societies, coordinating and hosting technical meetings, authoring and presenting technical papers, and contributing to newsletters and infrastructure reports.
