Matthew Taylor joined GZA in 2007, is an Associate Principal and Vice President, and serves as the Technical Service Area Lead for GZA’s Dams Practice Group in the Metro-Boston office.

Matt’s areas of expertise include dam and levee safety inspections, seepage and stability analyses, Emergency Action Plans, small hydropower feasibility studies, development of dam rehabilitation contract documents, preparation of permit applications, and construction administration for dam rehabilitation and dam removal projects.

He holds a BS in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Rhode Island and an MS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical) from Northeastern University. He is a registered professional engineer in five states and a FERC-approved Independent Consultant for Part 12D Dam Safety Inspections. He is a past chair of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section of ASCE - Geo-Institute and is a member of the Association of State Dam Safety Officials and the US Society on Dams.
