NORWALK, Conn., and NORWOOD, Mass., January 2022--GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. (GZA), a leading multi-disciplinary firm providing geotechnical, environmental, ecological, water, and construction management services, congratulates its clients F.D. Rich Company, Fuller Development, and Spinnaker Real Estate Partners on the successful sale of their Harbourside SoNo luxury apartment community in South Norwalk to a New York investment firm.

The 129-unit Harbourside SoNo is a six-story apartment building located at 123 Water Street, a short walk from the MetroNorth train station.  Harbourside SoNo opened for occupancy in January 2021 and features panoramic views of Norwalk Harbor and Long Island Sound, the city’s only rooftop pool, deluxe outdoor entertaining spaces with grills and fire pits, and many other premier amenities, and it also includes street-level retail and office space.

GZA provided a range of consulting services related to the development of the property, including due diligence assessments, geotechnical and environmental engineering, materials disposal, and construction support. GZA’s environmental and geotechnical solutions were implemented in concert with the building construction to remedy local flooding issues and minimize the need to manage soils.

“Harbourside SoNo is one of New England’s most innovative redevelopments of a waterfront industrial property for new homes and businesses,’’ said GZA CEO Patrick Sheehan. “GZA is proud to have had our team’s diverse talents and expertise play a role in bringing this project to life, which has proven to be such a civic and commercial success for our clients, F.D. Rich, Fuller Development, and Spinnaker Real Estate Partners.”

Architects for the project were Beinfield Architecture and Gooding Architecture.
