GZA congratulates Senior Consultant Dino Fiscaletti on earning ACOPNE Diplomate in Port Engineering

GZA GeoEnvironmental announced today that Senior Consultant Dino D. Fiscaletti has earned certification as a Diplomate in Port Engineering from the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE).

Based in Providence, R. I., Fiscaletti serves as Technical Practice Lead for GZA’s Marine and Waterfront Group and has led dozens of major coastal, geotechnical, structural, and civil engineering design and construction projects in New England and nationally. Fiscaletti was formally inducted as an ACOPNE Diplomate at its COPRI-PIANC PORTS 2022 Conference in Honolulu on Monday, September 19. 

GZA President and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Sheehan said: “ACOPNE’s prestigious Diplomate in Port Engineering is the highest post-license certification in the field and recognizes Dino’s advanced expertise and deep, specialized knowledge of how to develop innovative solutions to the many complex challenges associated with port engineering. I’m proud to join with all my GZA colleagues in congratulating Dino on the tremendous, well deserved honor of becoming a ‘D.PE.’ ”

Fiscaletti joins GZA Senior Project Manager Cheryl W. Coviello as the company’s second ACOPNE Diplomate in Port Engineering. Coviello was selected for the certification in 2019.

ACOPNE is an elite group comprised of nearly 200 Diplomates who have gone through many years of training and experience to become eligible for Board Certification. The Academy is a way to recognize engineers who have a special knowledge and experience in the fields of civil engineering that comprise ACOPNE.

Fiscaletti has served as Project Manager for several major port projects including the rehabilitation of Piers 1 and 2 at the Port of Davisville in North Kingstown, RI., the Woods Hole (MA) Ferry Terminal, and rehabilitation of the ferry slip and pier at the Maine Department of Transportation’s Frenchboro ferry terminal. 

Fiscaletti is a registered professional engineer in Ohio, Rhode Island, and Virginia and a registered structural engineer in Massachusetts. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.
