GZA has been awarded the Governor’s Occupational Safety & Health Achievement Award for its Fairfield and Hammonton offices.
The honors recognize the staff members of the two GZA offices for an incident rate of 0.0 and for their continuous improvements within their safety and health programs and policies.
Established in 1927, the awards program is cosponsored by the New Jersey Department of Labor (NJDOL) and Workforce Development and the New Jersey State Industrial Safety Committee (NJSISC). The Achievement Award recognizes employers who are committed to improving their safety and health programs, and who have injury and illness rates below their industry average. Both GZA offices honored had zero Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred (DART), the federal workplace safety metric.
GZA President and CEO Patrick Sheehan said: “On behalf of their colleagues at GZA, I want to congratulate the staff in our Fairfield and Hammonton offices for their exemplary safety record. Health and safety are one of our core values so we have an ironclad commitment to workplace safety across the company and make safety a part of every project. Over the past decade, our commitment to safety has earned GZA 7 Perfect Record awards and the Safety Leadership award from the National Safety Council, representing close to 9 million hours worked without experiencing a DART incident.”
GZA was honored by NJDOL for the offices’ safety record at a ceremony held last month at the department’s Trenton offices.
