GZA GeoEnvironmental has named Ms. Rania Campbell-Bussiere to the new position of Senior Grant Specialist to support public- and private-sector clients in securing U.S. infrastructure funding for a wide range of environmental, energy, and resiliency projects.

Campbell-Bussiere brings more than a decade of experience in grant writing and nonprofit development. Most recently she served as Director of Sustainability for Friends Rehabilitation Program, a Philadelphia community development corporation for which she helped to win more than $1.8 million in public grants and private funds for improving green stormwater infrastructure, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and establishing neighborhood orchards to enhance availability of local, healthy, fresh food.

With the recent enactment of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA)/ Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) pandemic relief act, and other federal and state laws, billions of dollars in both formula and competitive grant funding have become available for state and local governments and public-private partnerships. GZA staff have extensive experience supporting clients in securing funding for clean energy, nature-based solutions, clean drinking water, PFAS water treatment, and other infrastructure projects addressing sustainability, climate adaptation, and resiliency.

GZA President and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Sheehan said: “Rania brings tremendous skills and experience to the GZA team to help our clients compete for and win more of this once-in-a-generation funding for safe drinking water, clean energy, climate resiliency, and infrastructure.”

Campbell-Bussiere earned her master’s degree in Social Innovation & Sustainability from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vt., and her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies & Sociology, with an Economics minor, from Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. She completed the project Management Professional Prep Course certification at Drexel University’s Goodwin College of Professional Studies.
